Introducing Our Alternative to Toxic Lead: TungSteel
TungSteel is a non-toxic, non-corrosive, reusable, sustainable and environmentally friendly material, for accurate and long-lasting piano action balancing.
There is no need to buy any special equipment when switching from lead to TungSteel. It is easier and faster to work with than lead, and most importantly, safer.
The weights are easy to fit. They do not need cutting or swaging, and there is no concern about lead exposure in the workshop.
The hammer range offer weights from 0.1 to 2 grams. The standard key weighting range covers from 3 to 15 grams, with special 20 and 30 grams weight available on request.
TungSteel is a combination of two different metals, stainless steel and tungsten heavy alloy.
While our range of stainless steel plugs is wide and affordable, the more expensive tungsten plugs are heavy and dense: e.g. the 20 grams weight fits in a small 12mm hole. TungSteel offers new possibilities for Dynamic Touch Weight and Precision Touch Design (PTD).
Please note: TungSteel was engineered as a solution for modern pianos with soft wood keys and the provided drill directions need to be followed carefully. If the situation you are considering using TungSteel for is different, please proceed with caution and do some tests before proceeding. Using TungSteel is left at the user's discretion.

Directions of use: NO GLUE OR PREPPING REQUIRED FOR THE STANDARD KEY WEIGHTS.
For hammer weights: remove any handling grease with a degreaser like Isopropyl Alcohol. Fill the drill holes with PVC-e glue. This procedure applies to K20 and K30.
Bags content: A bag of 0.9 Kg of K3 contains 300 units. A bag of 1 Kg of K5 contains 200 units. A bag of 1 Kg of K10 contains 100 units. A bag of 1.5 Kg of K15 contains 100 units.
A bag of 3 Kg of K3 contains 1000 units. A bag of 3 Kg of K5 contains 600 units. (5% discount) A bag of 5 Kg of K10 contains 500 units. (5% discount) A bag of 7.5 Kg of K15 contains 500 units. (5% discount)
