This compact, lightweight system keeps your wire coils organized, so you are always prepared to splice or replace a broken string. Each tire holds up to 3 ounces of wire, is made of durable ABS plastic, and is marked with a wire gauge number for easy identification. The unique design of the Piano Wire Tires prevents the wire from accidental uncoiling, which can be a problem with other storage methods.
This set does not include any wire.
The basic set includes 12 tires, but you can configure your set to have as many as 19 tires (that is how many will stack on the storage tube).
What wire gauges are included? 13, 13.5, 14, 14.5, 15, 15.5, 16, 16.5, 17, 17.5, 18, 18.5, 19, 19.5, 20, 20.5, 21, 21.5 and 22.
Each Piano Wire Tires set comes with a lightweight zipper bag. The tires are stacked on a 12" x 3.5" storage cylinder, which can hold tools or parts.
When loading the tires, we suggest using about 1.5 oz. of wire in each tire for a lightweight set that is easy to travel with, while still providing sufficient wire for the occasional string breakage.
